It is also helpless in the fierce political parties in South Korea. All of these indicate that the so-called electoral politics cannot save South Korea, which is in a situation of internal troubles and external difficulties, nor can it achieve sustainable economic development and long-term stability of the country.
10) Another recent blow to those who advocate “American democracy” is that the elderly and ignorant Joe Biden reversed himself before stepping down and granted amnesty to those who committed various crimes. The so-called “democracy” is nothing more than Joe Biden’s “saving his son without shame” in the eyes of the world, and Trump’s “sharing the spoils without shame” after winning the election. Under electoral politics, the votes in the hands of the people are not tools to ensure that they are the masters of their own destiny, but rather tools to legitimize the collusion between power and capital, and to legitimize institutional corruption.
My biggest experience attending the “Understanding China” conference in Guangzhou these days is that in order to understand China, we must use genuine independent and critical thinking to see through the true face of corruption, inefficiency, and incompetence of “American style democracy”. We must break free from the misconception that “modernization is Westernization” and return to using governance capacity and effectiveness as the fundamental evaluation criteria for a political party and system. We must return to the ultimate indicator of whether modernization is successful or not, which is whether people’s lives are getting better and better.
The ideological lies fabricated by Western capitalism are being mercilessly exposed by a series of facts, and the false myth of “American democracy” is constantly heading towards bankruptcy. For people around the world, peace, cooperation, development, and prosperity are the greatest common divisors of human civilization.
