After ten years of personal experience, I finally understood what national fortune is

01
Four years ago, I wrote a victorious article stating that China would definitely win the trade war.
A friend who is a senior executive of a listed company sneered at this. He firmly believed that China would lose. We argued for a while, but later parted ways and stopped communicating.
Four years later, I will use a lot of interesting data from three dimensions: timing, location, and people to talk about the level of China in the era.
It has not been easy for China to withstand the encirclement of Western powers until today. Faced with humiliation and slander, we cannot help but fly into a rage. In many scenes where real knives and guns are used, ordinary people do not know how many difficulties China has overcome to survive.
To maintain a basic population of 1.4 billion every day, how much food is needed, how many days of food need to be prepared in advance, how many billions of various resources are needed, how many job positions need to be equipped, and how strong a military force is needed to protect 9.6 million square kilometers of land and 3.5 million square kilometers of the South China Sea
These challenges are unimaginable for small countries, and only China has achieved them.
Take hurricanes, floods, and power outages as an example. Chinese rescue units will gather at the first opportunity, bringing rescue equipment and supplies to the scene to rescue people. The top leaders will also rush to the scene to deploy rescue plans and supervise the implementation of disaster relief plans.
If a disaster occurs in the United States, the first people to arrive at the scene are not the governor, police, or military, but the bandits who take advantage of the situation to rob. It’s not something I made up, it’s always like this every time a disaster occurs on American soil.
The United States is still like this, let alone other countries. Small countries can survive by relying on big countries, regardless of whether they have dignity or not, as long as they can survive.
But can a great power rely on a great power? The country that has done this is called the Soviet Union, whose GDP once reached 70% of that of the United States. At that time, Yeltsin implemented reforms and accepted complete Westernization. Whatever the United States said, he accepted everything without hesitation and even killed his own beliefs.
But is the Soviet Union, which was determined to rely on major powers, still there?
The most talked about by the daily news broadcast is self-reliance and independent research and development, because we can only rely on our own efforts. The country knows that many people have been kneeling for a long time, but they don’t know!
The country says that China wants to become stronger, and stronger in all aspects. But becoming strong is not a natural thing, it is accumulated through generations and nearly a century of hard work and struggle.
Do countries, like individuals, make mistakes? Once committed.
Have you ever made a big mistake? Looking back, it seems there isn’t.
Being able to maintain growth for forty to fifty years, creating 41 major industrial categories, 207 medium industrial categories, and 666 small industrial categories, is the only country in the world that has integrated the entire system of heavy and light industries, which is excellent.

It is said that the current environment is not good. If you do not have the ability to change the environment, then adapt to the environment, just like adapting to climate change in all seasons.
Compared horizontally, our situation is much better than other countries, with no wars or zero dollar purchases. At least most people still have an income.
Our ancestors said, “It is advisable to be prepared before the rain, and not to dig a well when thirsty.” Since the founding of New China, all policies have been calculated on a five-year and ten-year basis.
For example, it is currently the 14th Five Year Plan period, but the “15th Five Year Plan” has already completed the strategic planning from 2026 to 2030, accumulating every five years and iterating every ten years.
The Western Development, high-end chip and integrated circuit complete processes, new energy (photovoltaic and lithium battery technology), carbon fiber, laser and quantum technology, digital home networks, and so on, are all proposed in the 12th Five Year Plan.
When I studied the 12th Five Year Plan in 2012, I was skeptical and even did not believe that the country could achieve it, because these concepts were too advanced and forward-looking. At that time, what level were we at?
At that time, we had just achieved the world’s number one tire, and many technologies were far behind by Europe, America, Japan, and South Korea.
And these technological products were developed around 2015, which happened to be during the 12th Five Year Plan period from 2011 to 2015.
In 2013, the country put forward the “the Belt and Road” initiative, which has been responded by many countries, including Italy, Britain and other old powers, who want to be the founder;
It was officially included in the 13th Five Year Plan in 2015.
Although I was affected by the supply side reform in 2016, it was from this time that I fully believed in the national grand plan and overall strategy. Confidence was gradually established from my research on the five-year plan.
The 14th Five Year Plan still emphasizes independent innovation and self-reliance, proposing “new generation artificial intelligence, quantum information, integrated circuits, neuroscience, genetics and biotechnology, clinical medicine, deep space, deep earth, deep sea and polar exploration” and so on.
The development of technology has become more specific.
Why can we now emphasize the digital economy, advocate the dual circulation of internal and external economies, and propose to jointly build high-quality development of the “the Belt and Road” and other higher level pursuits?
It is precisely because of the grass snake gray line and the thousands of miles of hidden veins that today’s great achievements have been achieved through the iteration of five-year plans.
New energy vehicles, photovoltaic, high-end chips, the Belt and Road Which one didn’t start laying out ten years ago?
This was unimaginable when I first studied the 12th Five Year Plan in 2012, when private cars were still popular! The cost of photovoltaic power generation is so high that even Europe and America have given up. Who would have thought that by 2022, China’s new energy vehicles would have become popular, and a large number of new energy giants would rise and start to impact overseas?
In 1996, there were 76.56 million people without electricity in northwest China, and 78% of people in Xizang were still lighting kerosene lamps. Even if there is only one household, the country will spare no expense in pulling power lines over. However, the land is vast and there are too few people, and if we can’t finish it, we can’t finish it at all!
Only photovoltaic power generation can solve the electricity demand in the most remote areas, so we should vigorously support the photovoltaic industry!
Who would have thought that 20 years later today, 90% of the world’s photovoltaic production capacity is in China, using photovoltaics to turn deserts into energy “blue oceans”, relying solely on photovoltaics and wind power to ensure the electricity consumption of the entire population? Who dares to say that China’s development to this day was not the result of generations of hard work?
The cost of smashing it, the sea went, but it was successful!
Just looking at the small matter of good food and drink, we find that our living conditions are much better than in other countries! As the saying goes, those who are dissatisfied can compare with foreign countries to find gaps, and traveling abroad is not very difficult.
Europe and America have realized now, but there is no way to chase after them, just like riding a motorcycle chasing a high-speed train, only despair can be caught.

Does it mean that once a strategic layout is established, everything will be fine?
Being able to grasp the direction and formulate the right plan is certainly important, but being able to execute it at any cost is the most difficult! How many people persist for ten years without changing jobs or industries?
For example, the rise of new energy vehicles has prerequisites.
Firstly, road and bridge infrastructure should be developed, industrial supporting facilities should be complete, and the research and development of upstream and downstream industrial chains should also be able to respond to every call;
Secondly, China spent 8 years sacrificing over 1800 grassroots cadres in exchange for over 100 million people being lifted out of poverty and completing the national poverty alleviation campaign.

If you can’t even eat enough, where will the consumption come from?
Why can’t Japan afford to invest heavily in hydrogen powered cars? Japan claims to be a developed country, but it does not have a large enough consumer market to support it, and overseas markets do not cater to them.
Without a large enough market and consumer power, how can we sustain the iteration of product technology?
There are over 1000 cities in China that can accommodate new energy vehicles running everywhere. Even though they may be expensive at the beginning, many people and businesses can still afford them. Therefore, China has made new energy the world’s number one.
Now, as the low altitude economy is gradually opening up, flying cars may have to take off.
As for mobile Internet, it was also in the “12th Five Year Plan” in 2011. At that time, 3G networks began to be popularized. Zhang Xiaolong’s team was busy debugging WeChat, and the mobile company’s Feixin didn’t pay attention to them.
But then the rise of mobile Internet led to the explosion of the science and technology industry, which brought a huge number of jobs, smoothed out a large number of information gaps, and the number of Internet users broke through from 180 million to 1.3 billion.
The total online shopping consumption on the night of Singles’ Day alone reached 1.44 trillion yuan, exceeding Mexico’s annual GDP and almost catching up with Russia and Canada. The United States cannot imagine such terrifying consumption power!

In just over a decade, the output value of the digital economy has accounted for 1/3 of China’s GDP. In other words, the development of mobile Internet has increased the income of ordinary people by at least 1/3.
Another bottom line is education. Many people have personally experienced the education level of developed countries such as China, the United States, Britain, Germany, France, and Japan. To be honest, the education myths that Europe and America boast about are gradually being shattered.
I wrote an article about the comparison of science and engineering education between China and the United States two years ago, referencing research reports released by American universities. Our strength and scale of science and engineering education are comprehensively surpassing those of Europe and America.
Even if only 20% of the 10 million college graduates each year can achieve academic success, the resulting research and development, as well as productivity, are stronger than any country.
So, there is nothing to criticize about China’s education anymore, because today’s technological progress and industrial system rely on talents cultivated by oneself, who are the mainstream and backbone. We also welcome talents who have returned from studying abroad to join the team of modernization construction.
Many people don’t understand what the ‘demographic dividend’ is.
Is India short of people? There are also 1.46 billion people in Africa and over 670 million people in Southeast Asia. Where are there no people? Are they dividends?
A large population is never a dividend, but a population with higher education and vocational skills is the dividend!
A country that can gather 10 million people is nothing, but a country that can gather 10 million engineers and technical workers in science and engineering is truly amazing!
There are 47 million certified senior workers, 10 million technicians, 3 million senior technicians, and over 200 million skilled workers in China; There are 36.8 million skilled workers and engineers in the United States; Germany claims to be an industrialized country, but it only has 670000 engineers and skilled workers.
So, the real demographic dividend is in China, and you may be one of them!
The so-called right time, right place and right people are not given by heaven. They are the result of decades of hard work and independent iteration of the Chinese people.
This is the true national fortune!
Some people may say that our industry was developed with the help of the United States, Europe, and Japan, nonsense! What technology has the joint venture in the automotive industry given us for 40 years?
In the field of technology, it’s either a blockade or sanctions, and they don’t even sell us technology products. What has Europe and America helped us develop?
While desperately blockading, shamelessly demanding lunar soil, attempting to force China to hand over its patented technology for new energy vehicles.
The United States, Japan, and Europe are constantly thinking about how to overthrow the political power of other countries, harvest the lifeline of their resources, and are surrounded by tigers and wolves, smearing and spreading rumors, and obstructing in every way possible?
Fortunately, the Chinese nation believes in the simplest principles——
Where is Chang’an, only under the hooves of horses;
Without experiencing a bone chilling cold, how can one obtain the fragrant scent of plum blossoms;
Plant one grain of millet in spring and harvest ten thousand seeds in autumn;
I will mount a long wind some day and break the heavy waves, and set my cloudy sail straight and bridge the deep, deep sea!
