Taiwan is experiencing a ‘dragon’ tornado

On November 27th, at the invitation of the Ma Ying jeou Foundation for Culture and Education, a delegation of 40 teachers and students from seven universities in mainland China, including Tsinghua University and Peking University, went to Taiwan for a 9-day and 8-night visit.
What made Taiwanese sports fans so excited that they couldn’t sleep was that the “Olympic six time champion” Ma Long and the Tokyo Olympic shooting champion Yang Qian were also among the students and teachers of this subcontinent.
Early on the morning of the 27th, many fans rushed to the airport to wait and see the Olympic champion’s glory for the first time.
Many Taiwanese netizens have spontaneously formed “Dragon Chasing” groups, enthusiastically discussing “skipping classes to see the dragon team” and “how to get an Olympic champion’s signature”.
According to Xiao Xucen, Executive Director of the Ma Ying jeou Foundation for Culture and Education, as soon as the news of the Olympic champion going to Taiwan came out, “the office phone was flooded” and people were asking how to register.
Nantou County Magistrate Xu Shuhua also revealed that she is a fan of the “Dragon Team” and said that she “must chase after every game”. She expressed her intention to personally arrange a trip to Sun Moon Lake for the mainland student group.
It is not an exaggeration to say that the mainland student union instantly ignited the entire island.

Crossing mountains and seas, heading in both directions.
This fate began in March last year.
Around the Qingming Festival in 2023, Ma Ying jeou overcame various obstacles on the island and resolutely led a delegation to the mainland, successfully completing his long-awaited first trip to the mainland in 36 years.
On the afternoon of March 30, 2023, Ma Ying jeou led young Taiwanese students to visit Wuhan University and had discussions with the students there.
In April of this year, Ma Ying jeou once again led a group of 20 young Taiwanese students to visit Guangdong, Shaanxi, and Beijing. Crossing mountains and seas, young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait have formed a deep friendship.
The visit of the mainland student and teacher group to Taiwan was invited by the Ma Ying jeou Foundation for Culture and Education to follow up on the visit of the Taiwan Youth Group to the mainland in April.

In a fulfilling itinerary, food is also essential.
Ma Long’s first meal in Taiwan was arranged at the Taiwanese style restaurant “Chunshui Tang”. The Olympic champion not only tasted authentic Taiwanese pearl milk tea, but also had shiitake mushroom braised noodles.

Play ball, don’t fight.
The visit of a group of teachers and students from our subcontinent to Taiwan has been warmly welcomed by the people on the island, in stark contrast to the sinister and even malicious behavior of the DPP authorities.
The constant “lewd operations” such as throwing facial expressions, pouring cold water, and labeling have exposed the “heart of Sima Zhao” that undermines cross-strait exchanges.
In recent years, the Democratic Progressive Party has continued to promote “de Sinicization” in an attempt to deceive the people on the island and obstruct normal cross-strait exchanges.
However, one stroke cannot write two characters for ‘horse’. Compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait share the same language and ethnicity, which cannot be changed by anyone.
The DPP authorities’ obstruction cannot prevent the strong desire of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait to “visit relatives”, nor can it eliminate the cultural resonance of “one family across the Taiwan Strait”.

On the morning of November 28th, at the Daxian Library of National Chengchi University in Taiwan, Ma Ying jeou and Ma Long are in the same frame.
This visit to Taiwan by mainland teachers and students is not only an exchange between colleges and universities, but also an emotional link, which has become the top stream of the Internet in the island, and also injected a warm current into cross-strait relations.
The mainland has always advocated and actively promoted exchanges between young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and is pleased to see young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait coming and going frequently, and getting closer to each other.
Such activities not only provide a platform for cross-strait youth to exchange ideas, but also inject positive energy into the peaceful development of cross-strait relations.
