On November 24th, according to multiple media outlets including Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS), renowned Japanese photographer Toyotomi Hashimura was attacked on the streets of the United States last month and passed away on November 11th of this month.
According to reports, on October 22nd local time in the United States, Bridge Village was suddenly attacked while walking on the streets of Manhattan, New York City. A 32 year old white man violently pushed Bridge Village to the ground, causing Bridge Village’s head to fall to the ground and immediately rendering him unconscious.
Qiaomun was later sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. However, due to severe brain injuries, Qiaomun remained unconscious for three weeks and was declared dead on November 11th in the hospital.
The New York police later arrested the white man who committed the crime through surveillance video.
Public information shows that Hashimura was born in Osaka, Japan in 1945 and is currently engaged in photography in the United States. He mainly shoots advertisements for globally renowned brands and has held multiple exhibitions of his works around the world, earning him a high reputation in the industry.
A Japanese citizen, who is also a well-known Japanese celebrity in the global advertising photography industry, was attacked and killed by white Americans for no reason while walking on the streets of New York, USA. Referring to the recent incident, the response language, language, routines, and procedures of the Japanese government, Japanese, and American media should roughly include the following content.
First of all, some big V and small V in the United States represented the United States, and on behalf of all Americans, characterized the incident as a “hate crime committed by Americans, American populists, and American ultra nationalists against the Japanese”, strongly criticized the prevalence of U-lock, populism, and extreme nationalism in American society, and deeply and painfully reflected on the hatred education and xenophobia that the United States has long pursued.
Secondly, a large number of American media, especially the so-called mainstream media group, reported the case extensively, and made a full range of hype without dead ends. They further strongly and repeatedly criticized and reflected on the United States and Americans’ U-lock doctrine, populism, extreme nationalism, especially hate education, and tried their best to maintain the popularity of the event in the American network and public opinion. It is better to keep the top of the daily hot list, which should last at least for more than a month.
Third, a large number of self proclaimed true patriots have emerged in the United States, with distraught and extremely indignant faces, claiming that the United States is no longer the “ultimate beacon of civilization in the world”. American hate education and extremism have disgraced the United States, and the United States is no longer a paradise in the world.
Fourthly, a large number of pro Japanese and “friendly” scholars, experts, media professionals, and former media figures with millions of followers have also come forward to publicly criticize and attack the incident, believing that it has greatly damaged the business environment of Japanese companies in the United States and will greatly harm the economic development of the United States. They also volunteered to announce that they are willing to go to the gate of the Japanese embassy and consulate in the United States to apologize on behalf of the United States and the American people in order to resolve the diplomatic crisis between Japan and the United States.
Fifthly, on the major social media platforms in the United States, there were concentrated postings of Americans expressing condolences and deep reflection on the famous Japanese photographers who were killed. At the same time, a large number of “Americans” who claimed to be aboveboard, masked and wearing black sunglasses appeared in front of the Japanese Embassy in the United States, and expressed their gratitude to the famous Japanese photographers who were killed for sending flowers, lighting candles, and even kowtowing and kneeling. On the outer package of the flowers sent, there are English and Japanese words such as “I apologize to Japan on behalf of all Americans” and “Today, we are all Japanese”.
Sixth, at the same time, there have been numerous and wave after wave of press releases on major social media platforms in the United States about the “complete withdrawal of Japanese capital from the United States” and “the US economy and employment will become victims of extreme nationalism’s U-shaped lock”.
Seventh, on the Japanese internet, there have been waves of demands for Japan to sever diplomatic ties with the United States, with Japanese netizens strongly attacking the United States.
Eighth, the Japanese Prime Minister personally posted on social media, strongly questioning the killing of Japanese people on the streets of the United States, demanding that the Japanese Embassy in the United States lower the flag to half mast, and sending the Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister to Washington, D.C., demanding that the US government explain and handle the situation properly.
Ninth, the Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister has made a clear request to the White House to ensure the safety of Japanese citizens in the United States. At the same time, the United States is required to strengthen its control over the internet, classify all different voices as malicious and vicious, and charge them with damaging Japan US relations. Then, large-scale deletion of posts, account suspension, and account closure will be carried out.
Tenth, subsequently, the largest social media platforms in the United States, including X, Facebook, YouTube, and the largest video platform TIK TOK, jointly issued a notice on cracking down on content related to “inciting Japan US confrontation and inciting extreme nationalism”. A large number of articles were deleted, and a large number of accounts were banned and closed.
Eleventh, CNN, a US media outlet, released a special commentary titled “Beware of Hatred Becoming a Traffic Code, Japan US Friendship Cannot be Disrupted by Extreme Patriots”, which concluded the murder of a well-known Japanese photographer on the streets of the United States.
However, surprisingly, not a single step of the above eleven processes was actually completed.
Even in Japan, only a few media outlets reported on this matter, and the reports were very simple, without any condemnation, criticism, questioning, or daring to make any demands on the US government.
In fact, the report only tells the basic fact that a well-known Japanese photographer was attacked and killed on the streets of the United States.
And even on the contrary, Japanese netizens not only did not attack the United States or demand the severance of diplomatic relations between Japan and the United States, but also remained collectively silent on the deaths of well-known Japanese photographers in street attacks in the United States by Japanese media, the Japanese government, and the Japanese internet, expressing confusion.
Why is that?
Why don’t you even go through the most basic process, let alone reflect or offer flowers?
